WAKANDA

WAKANDA

Yes yes!!! Office was closed 11am sharp.

It was a wakanda day whoop whoop! And yes we all went dressed up
The hype was worth it! Definitely, but listening to pockets of discussions back in office got me thinking
Afrofuturism was the theme for the Black panther movie , a concept used to carve out a niche for its style of architecture: a blend use of glass, steel and sun shading devises . The throne room grandeur with golden steel details, glass tile flooring, yet maintaining focus on the throne by giving a sense of openness with glass cladding in its background. The lab caught attention with its fluidity: though in the heart of a mountain, a sense of openness as well as connecting to its immediate environment is achieved.
Culture was well displayed in attires, facial markings (which we partook in), open spaces (markets) as well as in its architecture. Though high-rise buildings are seen in wakanda most had conical and green roofs. The play of architecture in nature was the architectural identity of Wakanda.
What we can carve out of nature and culture: Wakanda a myth or not
One thing for sure it’s OUR TIME

Are you African enough??
